News Update for 6.26.09
So, first off: obviously, I put the wrong date in last week's news post. It is unfortunate, but I suppose I must admit that I am absolutely awful with dates and such - I remember my birthday and Christmas; everything else is a little iffy. Anyway, it's been a pretty depressing week to be a fan of American popular culture. We've lost Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and now Michael Jackson. I know that's not terribly relevant to our work in preventing and treating child and family maltreatment, but it does contextualize my listening to "The Way You Make Me Feel" on repeat this morning.
Actually, Last.fm tells me that 165 000 other mourners are also listening to that particular track at the moment. I don't know how many are listening to other MJ songs.
Anyway, here's the weekly roundup. I'm going back to rocking out the Jackson 5, now.
